How do I set up Remote Desktop over Internet?

Remote Desktop Connection:

Before starting you need to know what is Remote Desktop Connection.
Remote Desktop Connection allow you to access your programs, files, folders, drives, settings etc, each and every thing, just like you are sitting in-front of your computer and using it.
The remote location computer will log out when you start the connection, so during the connection it will appear log-off.
For accessing remotely in your network (LAN) it is very simple, you just need your local ip or computer name for connection with user id and password.

Now i am gona teach you how to access your PC over internet with Remote Desktop Connection.

All you need a internet connection minimum speed 512 kbps with a router provided by the ISP and a PC.

I have MTNL connection with router so, i will show you how to configure it.

1. Access your router with the local ip or ip assign to the router. Ex. 192.168.1.1.


2. Now go to the NAT (Network Address Translation) tab and click virtual server.


3. Fill the following: 
Start Port Number: 3389 (3389 it is the default port number for Remote Desktop Connection of Window)
End Port Number: 3389
Local IP Address: 192.168.2.1 (Local ip the pc, which you want to be accessed over the internet)
Start Port Number(Local): 3389
End Port Number(Local): 3389



4. Now go to ACL (Access control list) and deactivate it.


5. Go to the status tab and note down your public ip address provided by the ISP.


6. Now right click on my computer then go to the remote setting and select allow remote connections to this computer.



7. All done, now you have to just access, using remote desktop connection.
